Quick Start

Get a basic Intercessor installation running in a few minutes.

1. Activate Intercessor

Install and activate the plugin from the WordPress Plugins screen.

2. Configure the essentials

Go to Intercessor → Settings and review:

  • Approval rules
  • Anonymous/private submissions
  • Notifications
  • Display defaults
  • Spam protection

For a moderated workflow, leave Auto-Approve Requests disabled.

3. Create a prayer-request page

Create a WordPress page and add the Prayer Form block.

Publish the page and submit a test request.

4. Review or add a prayer request

Open Intercessor → Prayer Requests. You can review the test submission or create a request directly from the administration page.

When creating a request as an administrator, you can enter it for yourself or on behalf of another person and choose the request status.

Approve a public request if it should appear on the Prayer Wall.

5. Create the Prayer Wall

Create another page and add the Prayer Wall block. Keep the status set to Approved for the public-facing page.

6. Test the complete flow

Test:

  • Normal submission
  • Anonymous submission, if enabled
  • Private submission, if enabled
  • Moderation
  • Prayer Wall display
  • "I prayed" interaction
  • Requester email notifications

TIP

Always test the complete workflow on a staging site before enabling it for a live congregation or ministry website.
